Small Leaf & Scroll Plaster Ceiling Rose

Design & Detailing

The Georgian Decorative plaster ceiling rose 420mm is a compact ornamental design featuring decorative leaf and scroll detailing arranged in a circular composition. This structure creates a balanced centrepiece that introduces classical decoration without overwhelming smaller rooms. The design uses flowing foliage and scroll forms to build a layered arrangement that produces gentle shadowing across the ceiling. The detailing provides visual interest while maintaining a clear circular outline, allowing the rose to function as a refined architectural feature rather than an overly elaborate centrepiece, making it a favourite among decorative ceiling roses UK specifiers and installers.

Georgian Influence

This period ceiling rose reflects the classical decorative language associated with Georgian interiors, where leaf motifs and scroll forms were commonly used to introduce elegance and proportion. The controlled arrangement of foliage and curved forms provides a measured level of ornament that complements traditional plasterwork and heritage interiors. The design works well alongside cornices, panelled doors and traditional joinery, reinforcing the character of period properties. Its classical composition is typical of Georgian ceiling roses used in high end restoration and decorative projects.

Size & Ceiling Proportion

The Georgian Decorative plaster ceiling rose 420mm in diameter (approximately 16.5 inches) has a maximum thickness of 35mm. This size makes it particularly suitable for modest rooms where ceiling heights benefit from decorative detailing that remains proportionate to the space. The centre opening accommodates a light fitting up to 85mm in diameter, allowing the rose to frame pendant fittings while maintaining the surrounding ornament. Its compact scale allows it to perform well as a small ceiling rose within interiors that incorporate traditional plaster decorative mouldings.

Craftsmanship & Material

Each Georgian Decorative plaster ceiling rose 420mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk using traditional casting methods and careful hand finishing. This process ensures the leaf and scroll detailing remains crisp and clearly defined across the surface of the rose. Fibrous plaster allows fine decorative elements to be reproduced with precision while maintaining durability once installed and decorated. The result is a decorative ceiling feature that contributes classical character and architectural refinement to the centre of the room.
