Georgian Plain Lighting Cornice

Design & Profile

The Georgian Lighting cornice 110x115mm is a medium profile designed to provide modest and medium rooms with a steady architectural boundary. Formed around a traditional Georgian outline with clean, uninterrupted shaping, the profile sits almost equally across the wall and ceiling, creating a calm and well-measured transition. This medium Georgian style coving, traditionally referred to as cornice, includes a modified top edge developed to work with wall-mounted LEDs. When offset from the ceiling and paired with LEDs, the profile produces an upward wash of light that enhances its simplicity and adds a controlled ambient lift to the room.

Georgian Influence

This LED coving reflects the balanced and proportion-focused nature of Georgian decorative design. The plain styling provides clarity without ornament, supporting interiors where restraint and symmetry form part of the overall aesthetic. Even without lighting, the profile casts soft shadowing that reinforces the room’s structure. When lighting is introduced, the Georgian lines gain definition, helping the cornice integrate seamlessly into both period-influenced spaces and contemporary rooms that favour subtle classical references. Its medium scale makes it adaptable across a variety of interior settings.

Craftsmanship & Material

Each length of the Georgian Lighting cornice 110x115mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk. Traditional casting methods ensure the profile remains clean and consistent along its full length whilst forming a dependable coving for LED lights. The fibrous plaster construction provides stability once installed and decorated, aligning with expectations within the coving for led lights category. The modified top edge is cast integrally with the profile, supporting the crisp shadow line associated with lighting-led interior schemes while preserving the unity of the design.

Suitability

This cornice led profile performs well in cinema rooms, games rooms, gyms, media rooms and modern kitchens where ambient lighting contributes to the overall design. The Georgian Lighting cornice 110x115mm supports coving for led lights by providing a balanced architectural foundation that enhances lighting effects without dominating the space. Its traditional Georgian character and measured proportions allow it to complement both modern and period-inspired interiors while maintaining the refined appearance associated with British Mouldings’ plasterwork.
