Design & Profile
The Georgian Lighting cornice 125x120mm is a large profile created to give medium and large rooms a structured, balanced architectural line. Formed with a smooth ogee and plain upper edge, the profile sits confidently across both wall and ceiling, offering enough projection to frame the room without appearing heavy. This Georgian style coving, also known as cornice, includes a modified top edge that compliments wall-mounted LEDs. When the cornice is installed slightly offset from the ceiling and paired with LEDs, the shaping creates a clean shadow line that produces a soft upward wash of light.
Georgian Influence
This LED coving reflects the refined, symmetrical qualities typical of Georgian interiors. The controlled ogee curve introduces gentle movement while maintaining a restrained overall outline. Even without lighting, the smooth transition between surfaces establishes a clear architectural boundary. When lighting is introduced, the ogee form helps diffuse the upward light, allowing the profile to complement both period-led and modern schemes. As a bridging phrase, its balanced geometry ensures it performs well in interiors where simplicity, order and subtle decorative structure are preferred.
Craftsmanship & Material
Every length of the Georgian Lighting cornice 125x120mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk. Traditional casting methods provide crisp and consistent detailing throughout the run, creating dependable coving for LED lights that performs well once decorated. The modified top edge is formed during manufacture to ensure a cohesive profile, giving installers the defined upper line required for lighting-based interior schemes. Fibrous plaster supports long term durability while offering the clarity expected from high quality plasterwork.
Suitability
This cornice led profile works effectively in cinema rooms, gyms, games rooms, media rooms and modern kitchens where ambient lighting forms a key part of the design. The Georgian Lighting cornice 125x120mm supports coving for led lights by providing a strong architectural base that enhances the lighting effect without dominating the room. Its combination of scale and simplicity allows it to integrate within period properties or more contemporary refurbishments while maintaining the refined character associated with British Mouldings.
