Design & Profile
The Georgian Lighting cornice 80x75mm is a small profile designed to introduce a neat architectural finish within modest rooms and compact interior spaces. Defined by a simple Georgian outline with clear edges and restrained shaping, the profile sits almost equally across the wall and ceiling to form a balanced, well-contained boundary. This small Georgian style coving, traditionally known as cornice, includes a modified top edge developed to compliment wall-mounted LEDs. When offset from the ceiling and paired with LEDs, the profile creates a soft upward wash of light that highlights its clean lines and brings a calm atmospheric lift to the room.
Georgian Influence
This LED coving echoes the quiet, proportion-led approach typical of Georgian decorative design. The simplicity of the form offers subtle structure without introducing unnecessary ornament, making it suitable for interiors where clarity and modest refinement are key. Even without lighting, the profile casts gentle shadowing that contributes to a stable and orderly ceiling line. When lighting is introduced, the Georgian character becomes more pronounced, supporting both traditional schemes and contemporary rooms that appreciate a measured classical influence.
Craftsmanship & Material
Each length of the Georgian Lighting cornice 80x75mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk. Traditional casting techniques ensure the profile remains crisp and consistent along the full run whilst forming a reliable coving for LED lights. The fibrous plaster construction provides long-term stability once installed and decorated, aligning with expectations within the coving for led lights category. The modified top edge is cast integrally to support the clean shadow line associated with lighting-led interior schemes while preserving the unity of the profile.
Suitability
This cornice led profile suits cinema rooms, games rooms, gyms, media rooms and modern kitchens where considered lighting plays a key role in shaping the interior. The Georgian Lighting cornice 80x75mm supports coving for led lights by offering a refined architectural base that enhances ambience without overpowering the space. Its compact proportions and traditional styling allow it to complement a wide variety of interior designs while maintaining the understated elegance associated with British Mouldings’ plasterwork.
