Design & Profile
The Art Deco stepped plaster cornice 110x75mm is a medium profile shaped with a series of equal steps to create a balanced and structured outline. As a medium cornice, often referred to as coving, it sits mainly across the ceiling with a controlled drop down the wall. The profile’s equal-step configuration gives the moulding a disciplined geometric presence suited to modern or contemporary interiors. With a 110mm projection and a 75mm depth, the design introduces a clear but not overpowering architectural line appropriate for modest ceiling heights and medium-sized rooms.
Art Deco Influence
The stepped arrangement reflects the symmetry and measured geometry that characterised Art Deco styling in the early twentieth century. This period cornice provides gentle depth through repetitive shadowing, supporting schemes where clarity and proportion guide the visual layout. Its consistent rhythm enhances the ceiling perimeter without adding visual weight, making it a versatile option for interiors that prefer subtle and structured detailing. The profile strengthens the room’s organisation by giving the upper edge a composed, consistent treatment.
Craftsmanship & Material
Each length of the Art Deco stepped plaster cornice 110x75mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk Traditional casting and hand-finishing methods preserve the definition of each equal step, ensuring a consistent line throughout. This approach meets expectations within the traditional coving uk market, where authentic materials and dependable shaping are fundamental. Fibrous plaster provides a stable and precise foundation for decoration, supporting the crisp geometry typical of cornice art deco profiles.
Suitability
This period cornice suits living rooms, hallways, dining areas and general living spaces where a structured but understated ceiling line enhances the interior. The Art Deco stepped plaster cornice 110x75mm integrates naturally with modern lighting, neutral colour palettes and clean-lined joinery. Its equal-step design offers a refined finishing detail that introduces clarity and balance without dominating the room’s visual composition.
