Design & Profile
The Georgian floral plaster cornice 280x290mm is an extra large profile designed to sit almost equal across the wall and ceiling, giving tall and generously sized rooms a strong and balanced architectural frame. As an extra large coving profile, often referred to as cornice, it features a substantial plain run enhanced by a detailed leaf feature and a vine frieze, creating a measured decorative structure along the perimeter. With a 290mm projection and a 280mm depth, the design introduces scale and clarity while remaining consistent with the ordered character of Georgian proportion.
Georgian Influence
This large floral coving reflects the refined decorative language associated with Georgian interiors, where enriched friezes were used to bring formality and rhythm without overwhelming the space. The leaf motif and vine pattern contribute gentle shadowing that supports the architecture of taller rooms. This measured approach makes the profile suitable for traditional settings and contemporary schemes seeking structured classical influence.
Craftsmanship & Material
Each length of the Georgian floral plaster cornice 280x290mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk. Traditional casting and hand-finishing ensure the leaf detailing and vine frieze remain clearly defined while the surrounding plain areas retain consistent geometry. This method aligns well with designers and architects seeking an elevated or Georgian design, where authentic materials and dependable shaping underpin long-term stability. Fibrous plaster supports the clarity of the profile once installed and decorated, helping preserve the intended architectural order.
Suitability
This Georgian style coving suits formal living rooms, grand dining areas and tall hallways where a substantial architectural boundary enhances proportion and character. The Georgian floral plaster cornice 280x290mm offers a refined finishing detail that supports heritage properties and large-scale refurbishments seeking composed classical expression. Its size, decorative frieze and structured plain elements make it a practical choice for interiors requiring presence, proportion and a clearly articulated Georgian profile.
