Design & Profile
The Georgian floral plaster cornice 380x175mm is an extra large profile designed to sit further down the wall than the ceiling, giving tall rooms and substantial interiors a strong and decorative architectural boundary. As an extra large coving profile, often referred to as cornice, it incorporates detailed leaf enrichment and a prominent guilloche band, creating a structured and rhythmic pattern across the perimeter. With a 175mm projection and an imposing 380mm drop, the profile provides a commanding presence while maintaining the balanced proportion associated with Georgian design.
Georgian Influence
This Georgian style coving reflects the grander end of Georgian interior styling, where repeated motifs and enriched friezes were used to emphasise scale and formality. The combination of guilloche and leaf detailing introduces steady shadowing that reinforces the upper architecture of the room. Its measured decorative approach integrates well with Georgian décor and renovation projects, allowing the profile to anchor traditional schemes or bring classical depth to contemporary spaces seeking controlled historic influence.
Craftsmanship & Material
Each length of the Georgian floral plaster cornice 380x175mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk. Traditional casting and hand-finishing help preserve the clarity of the leaf motifs and the distinctive guilloche pattern. Fibrous plaster provides the stability required to maintain the profile’s enriched geometry once installed and decorated.
Suitability
This floral coving suits grand living rooms, formal dining spaces and tall entrance halls where a richly detailed boundary enhances architectural character. The Georgian floral plaster cornice 380x175mm offers a refined finishing detail that supports traditional properties and large-scale refurbishments seeking a dignified classical presence. Its scale, decorative rhythm and structural clarity make it an effective choice for interiors requiring authority, proportion and a strong Georgian profile expressed through detailed enrichment.
