Design & Profile
The Georgian ornate plaster cornice 90x85mm is a small profile designed to sit almost equally across the wall and ceiling, making it suitable for modest or low ceiling heights. As a small cornice moulding, often referred to as coving, it features classic egg and dart enrichment arranged within a compact profile that delivers decorative character without overwhelming the room. With an 85mm drop and a 90mm projection, the profile introduces a clear architectural outline that remains well balanced for smaller interiors.
Georgian Influence
This Georgian style coving reflects the refined ornamentation common in Georgian interiors, where egg and dart patterns were used to establish rhythm and formality. The repeating sequence brings gentle movement and light shadowing that helps define the ceiling line. Its measured design allows it to complement both heritage rooms and modern schemes seeking controlled decorative structure.
Craftsmanship & Material
Each length of the Georgian ornate plaster cornice 90x85mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk. Traditional casting and hand-finishing ensure the coving egg and dart enrichment retains its definition, while the surrounding plain surfaces remain clean and consistent. Fibrous plaster provides a stable foundation that preserves the crisp detailing associated with egg and dart moulding once installed and decorated.
Suitability
This decorative cornice moulding works well in hallways, small sitting rooms and compact feature areas where modest decorative interest enhances the architectural composition. The Georgian ornate plaster cornice 90x85mm offers a refined finishing detail that supports both traditional layouts and contemporary refurbishments. Its small scale and structured enrichment make it a practical choice for rooms that benefit from subtle classical definition without adding excessive visual weight.
