Design & Profile
The Georgian plaster cornice 165x145mm is a large profile designed to sit almost equal across the wall and ceiling, giving small to medium rooms a clear and structured architectural boundary. As a large plaster coving profile, often referred to as cornice, it features a defined ogee curve supported by steady feature lines that create a well-organised transition around the ceiling perimeter. With a 145mm projection and a 165mm depth, the design offers proportion, clarity and a purposeful presence suited to interiors requiring a confident classical outline.
Georgian Influence
This ogee coving reflects the orderly shaping characteristic of Georgian interiors, where elegant curves replaced heavy decorative elements. The ogee introduces a measured sweep that produces soft shadowing, while the structural lines reinforce the rhythm of the upper architecture. This balanced design suits both traditional schemes and contemporary settings that value clean, classical form.
Craftsmanship & Material
Each length of the Georgian plaster cornice 165x145mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk. Traditional casting and hand-finishing ensure the ogee curve and supporting lines retain their clarity along the entire run. This method supports expectations by architects and designers looking to specify period cornice on their projects, where authentic materials and dependable shaping are valued for long-term appearance. Fibrous plaster provides the stability required to maintain the profile’s clean geometry once installed and decorated.
Suitability
This Georgian style coving suits living rooms, hallways and dining areas where a balanced and well-proportioned architectural outline enhances the space. The Georgian plaster cornice 165x145mm offers a refined finishing detail that complements both heritage interiors and modern refurbishments seeking structured classical influence. Its defined curve, consistent depth and measured projection make it a practical choice for projects requiring proportion, clarity and a confident Georgian profile expressed with restraint.
