Design & Profile
The Georgian plaster cornice 185x195mm is a large profile designed to sit almost equal across the wall and ceiling, giving medium to large rooms a strong and well-proportioned architectural outline. As a large plaster coving profile, often referred to as cornice, it features a traditional Georgian drip design supported by clear plain lines that establish a structured and coherent boundary. With a 195mm projection and a 185mm depth, the profile introduces scale, stability and balanced definition suited to interiors requiring a confident classical presence.
Georgian Influence
This Georgian style coving reflects the measured shaping associated with Georgian interiors, where drip details and disciplined lines contributed to visual balance and architectural clarity. The drip feature produces controlled shadowing that reinforces the room’s upper structure, while the surrounding plain areas maintain an ordered and composed appearance. This approach suits both heritage settings and modern homes seeking subtle but well-defined classical influence. The profile is a favourite among interior designers, offering a dependable expression of Georgian proportion.
Craftsmanship & Material
Each length of the Georgian plaster cornice 185x195mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk. Traditional casting and hand-finishing ensure the drip detail and plain sections remain consistent along the run. This method produces genuine Georgian cornice mouldings, with authentic materials and iconic designs to support long-term visual quality. Fibrous plaster provides the stability required to maintain the profile’s geometry once installed and decorated.
Suitability
This period cornice is suited to dining rooms, tall hallways and principal living spaces where a clear and structured boundary enhances the architectural scheme. The Georgian plaster cornice 185x195mm offers a refined finishing detail that supports both classical interiors and contemporary refurbishments seeking a disciplined, proportioned outline. Its balanced depth, extended projection and traditional drip feature make it a practical choice for projects needing clarity, structure and an assured Georgian profile.
