Design & Profile
The Victorian ornate plaster cornice 110x140mm is a medium profile designed to sit further onto the ceiling than the wall, creating a confident horizontal emphasis suited to modest rooms. As a medium cornice, often referred to as coving, it incorporates date leaf enrichment arranged in a clear, repeating pattern. With a 140mm projection and a 110mm depth, the floral coving profile provides a structured decorative transition that brings presence to the ceiling line without overwhelming the interior. Its balanced form supports schemes that benefit from controlled ornamentation and classical structure.
Victorian Influence
This period cornice reflects the botanical ornamentation commonly found in Victorian interiors, where leaf motifs added rhythm and formality to a room. The date leaf pattern gives the perimeter a consistent sequence of shadows, enhancing architectural clarity while maintaining a measured decorative effect. This decorative cornice moulding integrates naturally within Victorian interiors, offering a dependable option for interiors seeking subtle but characterful enrichment.
Craftsmanship & Material
Each length of the Victorian ornate plaster cornice 110x140mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk. Traditional casting and hand-finishing ensure the date leaf enrichment remains well-defined along the entire run. This method supports expectations within the medium cornice and floral coving categories, where authentic material quality and consistent shaping are essential. Fibrous plaster provides the stability required to maintain the crisp presentation of botanical motifs, helping the profile retain its clarity once installed and decorated.
Suitability
This Victorian coving suits living rooms, dining areas and feature spaces where a controlled yet decorative architectural line enhances the design. The Victorian ornate plaster cornice 110x140mm introduces a clear horizontal presence that supports interiors focused on proportion and detail. Its measured ornamentation ensures compatibility with heritage layouts and modern refurbishments alike, offering a refined finishing detail that contributes structure, rhythm and visual cohesion throughout the room.
