Bylaugh Hall

Bylaugh Hall

British Mouldings has had the privilege of working on this historic country hall over the years. Bylaugh Hall fell into disrepair following its use by the Royal Air Force in World War 2, but its new owner was intent on renovating all aspects of the building and British Mouldings have been tasked with the restoration of the fine plasterwork throughout. Since beginning work on this historic building our team have restored and replaced much of the damaged or missing plasterwork including large plaster domes, missing enrichments and decorative pilaster capitols. Much of this was done alongside our clay modeller and our highly skilled toolmakers.

During this time we also introduced new Mouldings to areas that previously had none. These include extra large modillion block cornices and ceiling roses to compliment the large reception rooms and tall ceilings.

All plaster work was manufactured at our workshop in Norwich and installed by our skilled fitting team. Its been a pleasure working on such a unique and historically rich building and restoring its original features.
