This prestigious private residence in St James underwent a full renovation and required extensive restoration of its existing plaster mouldings as well as additional new mouldings to be installed.
Due to its listed status restoration was at the core of this project. British Mouldings was asked to replicate a series of original mouldings and reinstate them during the renovation of this 5 floor private residence near Green Park. Many of the mouldings were in disrepair or had been completely lost so they were sharpened or reconstructed by our expert team before being re-tooled and reinstated.
As well as the original mouldings extensive panel moulding and modillion cornice was supplied and installed throughout the main foyer, stairwell, and lobbies across 3 floors – giving a continuous sense of grandeur throughout the property.
We were then tasked with the design and manufacture of a bespoke ceiling rose inspired by the Château de Villandry to compliment a unique chandelier design planned for the main dining room. We worked closely with the chandelier manufacturer and our modelling team to create a unique piece that complemented both the room and the chandelier. After a successful installation, we added a circular lighting cornice around the ceiling coffer to uplight the ceiling space of the dining room.
