Design & Profile
The Georgian Lighting cornice 70x70mm is a compact profile designed to add a neat architectural finish to modest or smaller rooms. Shaped around a gentle ogee curve, the profile sits equally across the wall and ceiling to create a tidy, well-balanced outline. This small Georgian style coving profile, traditionally known as cornice, includes a modified top edge developed to work alongside wall-mounted LEDs. When the cornice is offset from the ceiling and paired with LEDs, the ogee curve can produce a soft upward wash of light that emphasises the smooth transition and introduces a calm ambient glow.
Georgian Influence
This LED coving takes its cues from the restrained character of Georgian design. The ogee curve provides a subtle shaping that brings order without imposing excess decoration, making it suitable for interiors that value proportion and simplicity. Even without lighting, the curve creates light shadowing that complements the room’s structure. When lighting is introduced, the Georgian form gains definition, allowing it to work comfortably in both traditional settings and contemporary rooms seeking a quiet classical reference. The modest scale makes it particularly effective where a clean, unobtrusive finish is preferred.
Craftsmanship & Material
Each length of the Georgian Lighting cornice 70x70mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk. Traditional casting ensures the ogee curve and fine lines remain consistent across the run whilst forming a dependable coving for LED lights. The use of fibrous plaster supports crisp detailing once installed and decorated, aligning with expectations within the coving for led lights category. The modified top edge is cast integrally to maintain the unity of the profile while helping create the clean shadow line favoured in lighting-led interiors.
Suitability
This cornice LED profile is well suited to cinema rooms, games rooms, gyms, media rooms and modern kitchens where lighting helps shape the room’s mood. The Georgian Lighting cornice 70x70mm supports coving for led lights by offering a compact architectural base that enhances ambience without drawing unnecessary attention. Its simple, classical proportions allow it to blend into a wide variety of interior schemes while retaining the refined quality associated with British Mouldings’ plasterwork.
