Design & Profile
The Art Deco stepped Lighting cornice 100x85mm is a small profile designed to give modest and medium rooms a structured architectural line. Formed with a sequence of four varied steps, the profile creates a crisp silhouette that sits almost equally across the wall and ceiling. This small cornice art deco moulding, often referred to as coving, includes a modified top edge developed to compliment wall-mounted LEDs. When offset from the ceiling and paired with LEDs, the stepped shaping can produce an upward wash of light that highlights the geometry and enhances the overall definition of the room.
Art Deco Influence
This LED coving reflects the controlled linear themes associated with early twentieth-century Art Deco interiors. Its stepped arrangement introduces gentle shadowing even without additional lighting, maintaining a neat architectural boundary around the room. When lighting is introduced, the stepped Art Deco character becomes more pronounced, allowing the design to sit comfortably within both period-led schemes and contemporary settings seeking subtle but structured detailing. The clarity of the steps complements interiors where calm order, symmetry and a measured decorative presence are preferred.
Craftsmanship & Material
Every length of the Art Deco stepped Lighting cornice 100x85mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk. Traditional methods ensure the steps remain clean and consistent along the run whilst creating a functional coving for LED lights. The material provides reliable stability and crisp detailing once installed and decorated. The modified top edge is integrated during casting to ensure the profile remains cohesive while offering the clean shadow line required for lighting-led interior schemes.
Suitability
This unique cornice LED profile works well in cinema rooms, games rooms, gyms, media rooms and modern kitchens where ambient lighting plays a central role in the design. The Art Deco stepped Lighting cornice 100x85mm supports coving for led lights by providing a defined architectural base that enhances atmosphere without overwhelming the space. Its structured appearance and compact proportions allow it to complement both modern and traditional interiors while maintaining the refined character typical of British Mouldings’ plasterwork.
